Welcome to Bonner
Münster Basilica. This is a house of prayer and religious service,
as well as an important monument in the history of European art.
It is open: 7.00 - 19.00 h - the cloister 9.00 - 17 h
Sightseeing is not allowed during our service.
In the last few years,
the number of tour groups, with guides who speak loudly, has increased
quite a bit. On the weekends, and in certain hours of the day, is it particularly
unpleasant for guests in the Basilica. It is threatening the special character
of the church and its spectacular interior .
Therefore, from
the first of July, 2005, a new code of rules for tours in the Basilica
is coming into force.
Only authorised tour guides will have permission to give tours
in Bonner Münster.
Tour groups and travel companies have two choices if they would like to
hold tours in Bonner Münster. Either they may book an authorised
tour guide through “Bonn Information”, or they can be put
into contact with an authorised tour guide via the visitor’s services
of the Bonner Münster Foundation (Bonner-Münster Stiftung).

Persons with academic
qualifications in theology, history, or art history can apply for a day
licence to give tours, through the visitor’s services in the Bonner
Münster Foundation. The cost is 30 euros. We’re happy to send
you an application form. Alternately, you can find it on the Internet
here.

Guide books are available at the Admission desks or in our shop "Münsterladen"
 Postcards,
Guide Books, CD's -recorded by the Choirs of Bonner Münster, recording
of our Organ Music -, Religious Merchandise - you will find in the
Münsterladen, Gerhard-von-Are-
Strasse 1 - follow the "M" outside the church.
